School field with text important update

Dear JMHS Parents and Carers,

I understand that this is a difficult and challenging time for all our families as the NSW Government attempts to reduce the spread of the COVID-19 virus. I would like to sincerely thank you for your understanding and cooperation as you continue to support your children Learning from Home. Thank you to all those parents who have worked with us and cooperated in keeping their children at home. We understand the unique challenging times that we all have done our best to navigate.

The following announcements were made today regarding the current restrictions:

·       The Greater Sydney area will remain in lockdown until 28/8/2021

·       Remote learning will continue until 28/8/2021

·       HSC students are scheduled to return to school on 16/8/2021

At this point, the Department of Education is advising

Parents and carers in Blacktown, Campbelltown, Canterbury-Bankstown, Cumberland, Fairfield, Georges River, Liverpool and Parramatta LGAs must keep children – of all ages, across primary school, secondary school and early childhood education or care – at home unless they cannot be cared for or educated at home. Schools and outside of school hours care (OOSHC) services are open for any child that needs it.

Schools in the identified LGAs will remain open with an absolute minimum of staff. Our school is following the health orders to ensure we are looking after the wellbeing of students, staff and our community we will be providing minimum supervision to keep everyone safe.

It is so important that we look after our children, families and our staff who are at school during this time and I seek your cooperation in keeping your children Learning from Home. Again thank you so much for supporting us with this we are all looking forward to the students returning to school.

I thank you again for your continued support. Please stay updated and connected with us through our school website and social platforms (Facebook and Instagram).

Yours sincerely,

Mr Tim Bordado
