Building student aspirations

Western Sydney University - Fast Forward Program

Western Sydney University believes in seeing the potential in every student.

WSU believe in unlocking the potential in every student. It’s Fast Forward program (in partnership with high schools throughout Western Sydney) encourages students to see the value in continuing their education through Year 12 and beyond. Guiding students through various educational crossroads, the program helps students commit to continuing through senior school and assists in subject selection with a focus on future career choices.

By building student confidence and academic ability, the program aims to increase the awareness of post-school educational opportunities, and promotes the benefits of lifelong learning and the career paths it leads to.

Commencing in Year 9 and continuing through Year 12, the program consists of activities and events tailored to each year group beginning with Welcome to Western evenings through to Fast Forward University experience days and culminating in attendance at Western U Day, the Year 12 Conference and HSC study workshops.

Australian Business and Community Network (ABCN) Programs

ABCN’s award-winning, fully facilitated programs raise students’ aspirations, develop their key skills and help them build connections with a workplace and a corporate mentor.

Mentors also benefit through honing their coaching skills, stimulating their creativity and deepening their understanding of different generations and cultures. The common elements of our mentoring programs are communication, teamwork, personal growth and confidence.

High school programs typically take place at the offices of one of our member companies. We also use a safe mix of digital and face-to-face formats to keep students and mentors connected.
