Student opportunities and activities

At James Meehan High School, we offer a variety of programs in the classroom and across the school to help students build new skills, make friends and explore new interests.

Our programs may include:

• school sport, athletics and inter-school competitions

  • James Meehan High School is a part of the Hume Zone

• creative and performing arts groups and showcases including FUSION our annual CAPA Showcase

• cultural and language activities including our annual Multicultural Day

• excursions and incursions

• student leadership opportunities including our Student Representative Council and Junior AECG

• activities that support high potential and gifted learners including James Meehan Cup, Gala Day and FUSION.

Our extra-curricular highlights

Integrated and Representative Sport

Stage 4 and Stage 5 take part in across stage sports competition every Tuesday and Thursday as part of Integrated Sport.

Representing our school in inter-school sport gives students the chance to showcase their skills, build teamwork and compete with pride. It’s a rewarding opportunity to challenge themselves, strive for excellence and be part of our wider sporting community.

Creative and performing arts

Our drama, music and art programs help students be creative and express themselves. They can join in our CAPA Showcase FUSION, Multicultural Day and more

Trips and excursions

Our students enjoy getting out of the classroom to explore, learn and try new things. These experiences help them grow, build confidence and see how their learning connects to the world.
