James Meehan High recently offered an Enrichment Program for highly capable students of Year 8. The Enrichment Program provided a variety of challenging learning opportunities, catering for the different learning styles and interests of students.
Nine Year 8 students participated in a project based learning program to ‘Solve a real world issue'. The aim was to challenge students and enhance their creativity, independent learning, technology and thinking skills. Students worked in teams to raise awareness about real world issues and at the end of the project; they presented their work to staff, students and parents.
Our students did a wonderful job in presenting the work that was achieved throughout the term. They used a variety of technology tools to create audiovisual presentations, and devised lessons and quizzes to test the judging team and the audience. They entertained everyone and the audience was great.
