On Friday the 18th of March James Meehan High School participated in the National Day of Action Against Bullying and Violence.
Throughout lunchtime students showed camaraderie and cooperation in activities such as jump rope, ping pong, chalk drawing and handball. The activities were run by student leaders from each year group, supported by staff wellbeing coordinators. For lunch, students led by our Hospitality teacher cooked a sausage sizzle with beef, chicken or vegetable options. Students on the barbecue showed great teamwork and learned some valuable new skills.
To support the message of the day, tokens were given out by staff to students who illustrated positive behaviour through speech and action. This was followed by regular prize draws.
Special wristbands were available to students and staff for a small donation. The $113 raised will be given to Ingleburn's shelter for adolescent girls and women who are dealing with violence in their lives.
Thanks go to all the students and staff who participated in the National Day Against Bullying and Violence lunch. We are proud to be one of the many schools across Australia to take part.
